An interactive powerpoint that explains how to interpret both distance-time and speed-time graphs. It gives lots of opportunities for students to interpret and draw graphs.
I used this with a year 11 combined science class. The class liked sketching the graphs of the cartoon guy's journey. I used mini whiteboards so I could see who was getting it, and so they could compare with each others work. This is simpler than drawing the graphs on "graphing stories" which I will now use to revise and consolidate their time graph knowledge. One small point to look out for: the cartoon guy on the last slide follows the graph as if it was a displacement time graph rather than a velocity time graph. I will use this as a "spot the mistake" question for the class.
