Elements – what am I?

An engaging starter or plenary in for the elements unit for KS3. There are five clues each for ten elements.

Give students one clue at a time. If students guess the element after one clue they get five points, after the second clue they get four points, etc. 

It could be played as a class activity with students writing their answers onto mini-whiteboards. 

As an extension get students to choose an element and write their own clues.
