This KS4 resource explains how to interpret both distance-time graphs and speed-time graphs. Ideal for introducing or revising speed graphs. 

It includes lots of examples with opportunities for students to interpret and sketch graphs as you work through the PowerPoint.

It explains the difference between speed and velocity. Answers to the examples are included.

Have you used this resource?

I used this with a year 11 combined science class. The class liked sketching the graphs of the cartoon guy's journey. I used mini whiteboards so I could see who was getting it, and so they could compare with each others work. This is simpler than drawing the graphs on "graphing stories" which I will now use to revise and consolidate their time graph knowledge. One small point to look out for: the cartoon guy on the last slide follows the graph as if it was a displacement time graph rather than a velocity time graph. I will use this as a "spot the mistake" question for the class.
