Gravity, mass and weight
This resource is ideal to use as a structure to a lesson on weight and mass. There are plenty of opportunities for students to discuss their observations of what is a tricky concept to grasp.
There is a 'think, pair, share' starter activity to find out students prior knowledge and misconceptions. The following tasks encourage students to think about the differences between mass and weight.
The main activity is a practical investigation in which students measure the mass and weight of different objects. Finally, they look at mass and weight on different planets. There is a suggested homework included.
Teaching notes are on the final slide.
